I totally ate it and fell flat on my face

Hey Reader,

For the first time I can remember, I tripped and totally ate it on the asphalt this week. 🫠

It was dark. I caught myself on my hands. It just really sucked.

I’ve always said pain is a matter of when, not if, because life happens when you have a body that moves through the world.

But so many people play small because they're afraid of exactly this kind of moment.

Afraid of falling.

Afraid of getting hurt.

Afraid that if something goes wrong, they won't know what to do.

I wasn't scared when it happened, and not because I'm fearless, but because I have tools to help myself and I know how to use them.

First order of business was rolling out the base of my skull where I felt tension building first (I followed the Tension Headache Relief video from the Vault).

Then, I worked on the front of my shoulders that were irritated from catching my fall.

I ended up hiking with my cousin on Friday, and while I could feel some discomfort in the foot I twisted, it was nothing too big or scary.

I feel like we get all tied up in finding the perfect 73-step routine to improve hip mobility when we really should be preparing our body (and mobility toolbox) for when you eat 💩 walking into your house. 🫢

Because something will eventually happen. And believe it or not, it’s a lot easier to have the tools and understand your own body well enough to know where to start.

I’m not asking you to do brain surgery - just suggesting that knowing where to roll your Therapy Balls when something hurts is a great place to get started.

And if you’re not sure, that’s exactly what Movement Mavens® Therapy Balls and my Full Body Mobility Bundle were designed to help you with.

Not just maintenance, but the confidence that comes from knowing you can handle what comes up. 💕

Hey Reader, We are so good at maintaining everything except the one thing we actually live in. The little light comes on in the car and we get the oil changed. No question, no delay. But our bodies don't come with an indicator light, so we just... wait. Until something hurts badly enough to stop us. Until we can't ignore it anymore. But you can replace a control arm. You can swap out your oil filter. But a replacement hip or knee is never quite the same as the original. And while it might not...

Hey Reader, I was out of town visiting my cousin last week and figured I'd try a Pilates class while I was there. About 4 minutes in, I was already questioning the life choices that led me there. This class was designed to be deliberately and aggressively hard. It’s the kind of class where you look around the room wondering if everyone else is suffering as much as you are and their faces confirm that yes, they absolutely are. I knew that going in. And still, I dropped to my knees in every...

Hey Reader, I’ve been doing the same handful of exercises in my workouts all year, and I’ve never felt stronger. There’s so much pressure to be doing the newest, hottest, flashiest thing, but to be honest, sticking to the basics will make a world of difference. If you already make 17,492 decisions a day, making your workout even this 🤏🏻 much easier is a huge mental load off. Keeping it simple meant I stopped scrolling for inspiration before every workout. I didn’t have to stand there and try...
